Rural Creative’s pieces reflect our passion for local love. We create and design art that is uniquely Canadian.
Rural Creative is focused on up-cycling products, using reclaimed wood that is rescued locally and repurposed. Our pieces begin with cutting apart pallets, hand sanding pallet wood and then assembling each ‘canvas’ to retain the unique character and story of the original material.
We pride ourselves on researching, designing and creating unique products which boast hand-drawn and hand-painted typography. No stencils are used, making each piece a true work of art.
Pieces found in the Shop portion of our website have already been designed and are created on demand when purchased. Our turnaround time is usually between 3- 5 weeks. Many of these signs can be personalized with the option to make them your own with different locations, colours, dates or names.
Custom artwork is taking an idea that a customer has and creating a piece that works within the Rural Creative aesthetic. Custom work typically takes between 5-8 weeks. The more information that the customer has of what they would like before starting this type of order, the more efficient the process is.

These start ornaments are made from our scrap pieces of reclaimed wood that we collect. We have now repurposed and created a beautiful ornament by hand for your tree. Each star is hand cut on a scroll saw so no two are ever alike! Paired with a gorgeous cream rope & wooden bead - they measure approximately 3" tall.

The official flower of Alberta, the Wildrose. In collaboration with Grow and Company we are so proud to release this one of a kind walnut ornament. The artwork has been created from taking photographs of Rural Creative's original painting of the Alberta Wildrose (image number two) and then digitally creating the artwork to be engraved by Grow and Company. Paired with a gorgeous green velvet ribbon and measuring approximately 4" tall. Made from both walnut wood and acrylic.

The restored 2816 Steam Engine named The Empress, did a cross continental tour in 2024. This iconic engine was captured in a photo by my cousin and his son who followed the train to watch it make its voyage.
